The grounded low voltage (GLV) system in the MK1 vehicle was aging and in need of several architectural improvements, so the entire MK2 GLV system is being completely revised and remanufactured. To enable this effort, the GLV wire harness team is collecting data on all of the low-voltage power and signal wires running throughout the car, as well as designing routing to protect those wires (conduit, expandable sleeving, etc.), while considering EMI protection, abrasion resistance, weight, and grounding tab locations. Then, the GLV wire harness team is responsible for installing the wires, adding the appropriate terminals/connectors, and securely installing the harness to the vehicle.
